Can anyone help me with engine service codes?

I got my 97 coupe back from the body shop yesterday and the service engine light was on.

I pulled the codes off. These are: PCM p0161H/p1571h; AOLDCM u1255H/u1064h/u1016h/u1996h; ALRDCM u1255h/u1064h/u1016h/u1096h; 38RTD no comm; 40 BCM b2723h; 99-HVAC no comm; A6-5cm no comm.

Do I just take the car out and shoot it or what?

Is there a comprehensive list of codes somewhere on line? Is there a way to reset these without special tools?

I'd like to learn how to do this myself...I really hate being helpless. Thx sj

I did find the code information in the C5 tech tips. I cleared the codes, however, the check engine light remains on.

Any way to reset this?

Check your codes again, that light should come off if all codes are cleared, so you may have a failure somewhere in the system.

The engine service light went off after the car was started and driven. It must have had to "cycle" before resetting.

Thanks to all. What a great forum...and I've learned a few things about resetting codes in the process. sj
