Default Running Rich ?

Ever since my "Z" was new the left side exhaust has always been black where as the right pipe is tan. I have no codes on the DIC and the car runs perfect. When the A/F is adjusted I assume it is one setting for both the left and right bank. Anyone have any ideas? :skep:

I would find someone with LSI edit and see if your left and right O2 sensors are working the same! If one is defective it will cause that bank to run RICHer than the other!!!

If it is under warrenty "Request the dealer to put it on the Tech II and check to see if both O2 sensors are functioning properly and if one bamk is running richer than the other!

Thanks Bill. I should have said that I took it to the dealer and they said everything is perfect. I know this can't be right.

A lot of the "TECNICIANS" that work in dealer ships are just that "techs" and NOT mechanics! :mad :cuss If your problem isn't in a diagnostic troubleshooting table, it isn't a problem. The good old fashion use of common sense usually isn't used! There are still some good mechanics out there and if you find one ya better thank him!!

On the other hand; if the Tech using the Tech II scanner did not find any readings out of range I guess they are not liable to fix it. :skep:
Maybe take it to someone with LS1 Edit and see if they can check out the fuel trims to see if there may be something that they can tune in!

do you have aftermarket exhaust? look for a air leak, air tube h pipe. take a small rubber hose and go from one end to the other. one end of the hose at your ear the other on every joint. how many miles? might try new 02's.....
