please explain to me how to check tolerance between torque converter and flex plate. i am installing tci 3800 and rebuilt tranny and i was told this should be done not sure how to 03 vette.
thanks    btw is it crucial to have this done
Here's a bump for you - I don't have a Vette, but I've never heard of any tolerance check between the torque converter and flex - but - you have the different set-up (front engine, rear tranny), so I don't know if that affects that.
One thing I just thought of - maybe the person you spoke to was referring to the torque converter bolts. If the bolts are too long, they can dimple the torque converter case, which will deform the converter clutch friction surface. That will result in a trashed TC.
Check with TCI, and see if their tcs require shorter bolts.
