thats the way I do it, but others have pushed back the brake cooling duct..
I remove the black plastic surround panel ( three Phillips screws ) then I remove the hood adjustment stop to make it easy access
Actually there are small access panels just behind the front spoilers, there are 5 or 6 small (7 or 8 mm I think) bolts holding it in place. But to get to them you'll need to get the nose off the ground, Rhino Ramps come to mind.
I had to replace a turn signal bulb, but while I was in there I also replaced the DLR bulbs.
:banghead: Unfortunately, the dealer confirmed that car must get raised and access is through fender well. $60.00 is what they want to change a bulb. Not exactly forward thinking on GM's part. :mad
I changed the bulb in less than 5 minutes.. popped up the headlight up..removed the shroud.. 3 screws,, the hood adjuster One lock nut and unscrew ).. reach in twist pull and plug ,,even with my big flabby arms ..it is easy.. 60 dollars?????????
You can do fog lights, DRL, and turnsignal bulbs from this vantage..
No need for a lift or ramps..
I run mine up on a pair of double 2x12's that is high enough to get the little underpanels off and reach up inside. There is a little tab to squeeze on the sockets in order to turn them, as I recall when I replaced my amber turn-signal/running bulbs with white.

 Thanks for the advice, I removed shroud w 3 screws and was able to see and remove DRL but could not identify Turn Signal socket and location. Why did you remove hood adjuster? The only thing I was able to see in addition to DRL & Fog was a upwside down socket with 3 wire harness, is that it and how does it remove? :banghead:
Well, I did mine through the brake duct. Takes two minutes, no lifting, no screws, no tools. You can do it in the parking lot, unless of course you have really big hands. Just push the brake duct back and to the side and look in with a flashlight, you will see what I mean.
Maybe you should tell the dealer you will change all their bulbs for them at $40 per pop :lolg:

OK, how far do I push duct back and what will I be looking for? I couldn't see any socket for bulb except the daytime running and driving lights, where should I be looking?

Bob, the engineer who designed the location of these bulbs didn't worry about having to change them later (he must have been asleep...then again, he figured he could give the dealers extra money by having the owners come in and pay $$$ to have the little bulb changed).
Anyway, do yourself a favor AFTER you've changed the bulb. Remove fuse #2 under the hood and your DRLs will go out and the bulbs will last a lot, lot, longer. It doesn't affect the operation of your turn signals, it only affects your "approach lights" when you unlock at night (i.e. the front signal lights will not flash -- but who cares?).
Lastly, you can now ride in stealth and not have to worry about the law enforcement officer who takes aim between your two bright yellow ugly DRLs with his laser/radar gun! And yes, people will be able to notice the beautiful lines on your hood and not be distracted by those annoying DRLs. :yesnod:
The DRL's are your turn signal bulbs. :yesnod: [Modified by LoneStarFRC, 9:52 PM 1/29/2004]
I meant I can see side marker socket and fog lights socket but not Turn/DRL
I tried going through brake duct but I still don't see anything that is obviously the Turn Signal Light socket? What am I looking for? I see a 3 pin plug thats attached to a harness  :banghead:
Boy I am confused at this point, which bulb are you trying to change? The DRL and turn signal is one and the same and you reach in and turn the socket. It will then drop out and you can extend it just outside the car to change the bulb.

Re: Front Turn Signal Access (NYN8IVE)
Your DRL/turn signal bulb is towards the rear of the gray housing that it plugs into. The actual bulb itself (and of course the socket) are oriented so that the bulb is positioned vertically. This means that the bulb plugs in from underneath the gray housing. If you will try this, it might help: Raise your headlights and leave them up, remove the black plastic surround, around the headlight in question (three screws), and look down in the turn signal area and you will see how things are situated. If your arms arm skinny enough you can reach down inside from the top and get to the bulb. The only difficulty is that you will be pretty much doing things with one hand. I have done it a couple of times this way. HTH
Robert
Edit: Just got to thinking about the bulb orientation, since it's been awhile since I last did this. It's possible the bulb/socket may be parallel to the ground, but either way it still plugs into the gray housing near the rear of the housing itself.

It's the DRL / TS, does it have 3 wires going into it?
I've been able to reach in and grab a plug there but I can't get it to move and I'm afraid I'll do more damage by really forcing it. Twisting it does nothing. :banghead:
