Work even better if you use both feet on the clutch.
I confess, I downshift quite a bit. If it wears the engine out I plan to file a suit against Borla for a new one. After all if those Stingers didn't sound so damn good I wouldn't have to downshift at all. Therefore it's Borla's fault! :auto:
All points-n-barbs aside, I love to downshift - especially in the twisties. Extended warranty has everything except the clutch covered til 75k miles, so if the motor\tranny explodes before then, a new replacement is free.
If the motor explodes after 75k miles...427 twin-turbo sounds like the right replacement! Oh, beefy tranny, too.

BBDWOLF likes to gear down. It makes driving fun. He is an automatic so I get a better feel for the road with higher rpms in curves and up and down hills. I cannot say I do this all the time, but if I am looking for a thrill gearing down is an easy way to get the revs up and make the car much more responsive. When passing it is not necessary. Most of the time the Corvette is the fastest car on the road anyway.
