WILL GOING FROM 275/40/17 DRs TO 26X 11.5-17'' ET STREETS AFFECT MY PERFORMANCE AT ALL? WONT A TALLER TIRE HURT TOP END(MPH) BUT GIVE YOU BETTER 60 FT AND SHORTER TIRE HAVE SLOWER 60 FT AND A HIGHER TOP END(MPH)? CURRENT TIME W/ 275/40/17 NITTO DRs-12.50@111 w/1.80 60 ft. INSTALLING H/C SETUP NEXT WEEK AND I THINK I MIGHT NEED SOMETHING STICKIER.
I have had BFG 315 DRs and now ET Streets. Your 1.80 60 ft times sound like you were not hooking with those Nitto DRs. Try heating them up more before you jump to ET Streets (Nitto's need a long burnout to hook). A taller tire will usually decrease your trap speeds, a shorter tire should not hurt your 60 ft times if you are hooking with them.

:iagree:I achieved low 1.60's with the Nittos..but you will need to heat them up...ALOT!! On the other had the E.T's are the definative answer for traction problems..I cut my times to consistent 1.50-1.52 short times with mimimal burnouts...:D

Re: DRAG RADIALS VS. ET STREETS (msuc5vette)
How many street miles can you expect out of an ET street?
Do many people drive them on the street regularly besides to and from track?
Obviously rain = major problem...
THERE ARE more than a few here INCLUDING MYSELF who drive et streets on a regular basis and i have now driven two complete seasons with the et streets on my 427 car and usually they are good for around 3 to 4K miles or so but i guess it all depends how many burn outs you do with them on the street, etc. and how many ***** out 1/4 mile runs. THey certainly do not last long but have given me alot of traction and reliability (no flats after around 7K miles) on two different sets over the last two seasons. BUT YES, keep a close eye on the DOPPLER b/c these do not mix with anything short of dry roadways!!!
