This link looks interesting, in the old days (I know the young guys hate that term) we used nickle in trans and rear gears because the harder or more brittle it became the more we broke them, could be diff treatments now have made a diff, soon as I recover from the 30+K I have just spent on the car the gears and rearend are going to be my focus, I would love to race but not until I know (as least have a good shot) at not having the car come home on a tow truck or trailer--good info guys

D&D Performance, 248 926 6220. I had my tranny made even more biullet proog by having the hard part's DCT's (deep cryogenic treated) by D&D as well. I think the main guy there is Joe, nut not 100% sure. They have an excellent rep, as do others mentioned here.
