Re: Options for a "Built" T56 Tranny? (Mean Green)
Tommy did a great job for a totally stock tranny that was covered under warranty. It held up nicely for a long time and shifted smoothly. However tommy says the problem is guys like me and brent try shifting the car quicker then the tranny can and so far there is nothing that can hold up to that right now. Currently I have a tranny from crashed 94 but I think its on its last legs and would need to be freshend up soon. That one has about 30 passes on it but it also the one I ran a 10.69 with so it took some major abuse. Rodney always treated me right when I talked with him and is more then fair.
5500 rpm launches wont break the tranny....does a number on your rear though and when I get a track that hooks I like to leave at over 6k :D thats the secret to those low 1.4 60fts.

There are a couple of shops. Several were @ PRI. One of the shops claimed to be able to build a T56 to support 900 HP. I will see if I can find the info.
We use R. Massengale to build our HD transmissions and his work and attention to detail is impeccable. He builds a bulletproof Tremec and we are very pleased with his product. :)

D&D makes good stuff also.
Jrod, I think the shop you are talking about is the one in my link.
