From what I'm hearing, the 1870's wagon wheels ride better than the EMT's, and get better traction to boot!! :jester

Re: Falken Tires (bmathews)
I have a set coming, my uncle is tire dealer and sells Goodyear, Michelin etc and he and I both are trying the Falken as he has had good service on the ones he has sold and figured for the price what the heck I am getting a set for less than half of others.

Re: Falken Tires (bmathews)
Kuhmo MX are good tires for the price..
I WOULD not use FALKEN tires. My friend has them on his 98 m3 and hates them. He said they were OK at first but when SOUTH fast. He cant get traction and he has 240hp.. I WOULD not buy those..IMHO

no problem i was just being honest.
I know tires cost alot especially for our sizes, I honestly think the Kuhmo MX is the best bang for the buck. Everything else is MONEY.

Re: Falken Tires (CraZee ZO6)
What other tires should we be considering.
I would like to find the best balance of performace ad $$$
I dont want to be cheap and buy crap, but I don't want to spend more than I need to for good grip.
If a $500 pair isn't going to give me noticably better traction than a $400 set why spend the money?

I read an independant test on kuhmo, bridgestone, and falkens. They were all pretty close, but the falkens are alot less money.

maybe the test had the kuhmo 712s not the MXs. Link us the Test.
Ill bet that the MX is MUCH better tire than the Falkens. MX is up there with bf goodrich kds, mich pilots, and other high perf tires.
But anyways I have said enough, people can make their decisions.

I have BFG's on the rear and Falcons on the front, they are fine. I just needed a decent front tire and they are OK so far.
:withstupid: but I have Mich MX3's 325/30/18 on the rear and those Mich's are really bad ... spin on me all the time. Will replace with Mich Pilot soon ...
BTW, I got F451 285/35/18's on the front.

Just curious where did you read the test, and how much are the Falkens for a set of 4?

Re: Falken Tires
I just got the Falken f451's on the back of the vette. For 165 a piece, I couldn't go wrong! Seem to have a nice tread pattern for the rain too.
They seem to be doing fine for me (they are z-rated) so I'm happy. What more can you expect from 165 a tire.

Re: Falken Tires (94-98 Trans Am)
My 99 FRC is on a set of rear Falken FK-451's.
I was looking for an inexpensive tire to turn to smoke. :D
I was also pleased at their performance at my last open track day. The car was new to me, but I thought they handled very well, and were very forgiving at the limit.
They're cheap too.
