engine temps no...engine bays yes.....I simply removed the rubber weatherstripping that runs along the back of the bay to vent the heat and all is well again...now I run at 190 with no change in thermostat

good question. Ive heard of some guys removing the plastic on the side scoop dam between the front fender and door on the drivers side, and putting in after market screens. It helps get hot air out, but some dirt in. I would not think much dirt because the pressure would be pushing it out.
You cant do this on the passenger side because your PCM ( computer ) sits right there.

Engine temp no, engine bay maybe. If you run a coated header in my experience there is less heat in the engine bay, an uncoated header will have more.

What about wrapping them with theat special Tape??? I am talking about the SLP long tubes and they say they are double coated in side and out.

I already ordered some koolsox (39.95 I figure it can't hurt) for the spark plug wires. And am seriously considering a heatmaster shield. My right leg would really heat up in my old C4 that had exhuast mods.

Thanks. GOnzo

Gonzo,

The tape wrap method shouldn't be necessary with a coated header. All the hear has to go somewhere BTW, so that which doesn't escape under the hood escapes from the cats-back, so watch what you ask for. I get a fair amount of heat from under the car, very little (same as stock) under the hood (caoted headers). I notice that when I ran without cats the cockpit was MUCH cooler, so now with the cats back on I may put a heat shield between the cats and the floorboard to reflect more of that heat down.
