I was just wondering if anyone has ever had any problems with their stock LS1 valve springs. I've been told by a few people that they are pretty weak and prone to valve float.
Is there any truth to that rumor?
Please chime in if you've encountered or heard anything.
If so, any suggestions on springs for mild upgrades would be great.
Thanks.
I have not heard of any problems with the stock valve springs with the stock cam provided you are not reving the engine beyond 6K. If you are going to upgrade your cam plan on installing good valve springs like the Crane duals or the Comp 921 duals.

That's great to know. Out of curosity are the LS6 springs a single or dual spring? Also, congrats on a very nice write up about you and your C5 in a recent corvette magazine article i subscribe to and recently read!!!!
A few guys in the FI forum have had issues that were resolved when they went to Z06 springs. I am having high RPM power loss with my blower and have ordered Z06 springs to do the swap too. Not yet sure if it will resolve my issue.
I am running stock 2002 Z06 springs and light valves with a Thunder Racing 220/553/114 cam. 10,000 miles now, many quarter mile runs, no problems so far, red line is 6500rpm, I go there often. My goal is 100,000 miles on this set up.
