Just saw a pic of it in Corvette Fever--looks like a highrise intake for the typical v8 buildup for carb cars but apparently it will accept either a 4 barrell carb for the ls1 or the 4 barrel style efi TB--it is obviously aluminum but it would appear you could put a 4 barrel style TB on it that would move some serious CFM--I can't tell if their would be hood clearance problems but it is designed for the corvette--anybody heard any info on this unit, I also like the pic of the FAST in this issue it really shows how the runners are designed to run straight down to the intake ports instead of at an angle like the ls6 intake--
I wish I knew how to do this, it looks just like a highrise intake off an 327 small block or something but open plenum with even af flow to each hole-I can see the manifold fitting under the hood and maybe but I doubt it, the TB but to run filtered air to it you may be able to fit it all under a hood used for the mag blower setup--
Re: New GM performance intake manifold? (NEPTUNEBILL)
That intake would never fit under the hood of a C5 without a huge hood scoop , there are a few other similiar intakes out there for the LS1 , they are more geared for street rods though , were clearance isn't an option .
Re: New GM performance intake manifold? (NEPTUNEBILL)
You may be looking at the new intake for street rods, etc that want to get away fron the hastle of the ls1/6 electronics. It lets them use a carb instead of the FI-seems like a backward approach to me but I guess it simplifies things. Saw it at the SEMA show in Las Vegas this past fall.
