I just purchased a used "Z06" rear spring. I pulled my base spring off my 2000 vert (an original, until I bought it, unmolested car) and both springs are identical as to arch - not a centimeter of difference. The "new" spring did not have the paper ID tag on it (!) but the numbers on it are 22171757 and a 1-6 above that. These numbers are about two inches from where the paper tag should be. Is this a Z06 spring?
According to LS1howto.com there should be a shallower arch on the Z06 spring-there is not on this one :flag
I'm afraid that you do NOT a Z06 spring. You either have a base suspension spring or a Z51 spring. I'm not sure of those part numbers, but I thought the number you stated (221171757) is the Z51 spring part number. I just took a Z51 spring off my car (2000FRC) and replaced it with a Z06 spring. The Z06 spring part number is 22188078, and yes it has less arch in it than the Z51 spring had in it. Sorry I had to be the bearer of bad news.
I have a T-1 rear spring, which has even less arch in it than a Z06 spring, if you're interested. The part number is hard to read, but I think it is 22188480 and it has a date on it of 3/9/99, so it's one of the early T1 springs.
