Differential ventilater plugged?

Differential ventilater plugged?

My differential was leaking drops on floor and black marks on back of car. Dealer said ventilater was plugged. Never heard of that causing this problem. Never heard of a ventilater or what it's purpose is. I have extended warranty.
Can someone help me understand this problem or is dealer full of :bs

Well, dealer cleaned ventilater plug and said good to go. I also had them replace hazzard switch so turn signal will work when I want it to. :D
