Default To much drive train noise?

Hello, I am a new member. 2004 C5 6spd 300 mile so far. Just would like to say Hello and thanks for all the info. I have read much input from you guys and it is all good., Thanks. My hope is that my 2004 C5 is not the only one with a noise problem, is this a defect in my vette or does anyone else have this problem? Rattle, clunck, clunck rattle then clunck thats taking off in first slow. MAN now thats !@#$%^&*(
The trow out bearing sounds like if it is loose and if the clutch is let out fast the thing really starts to play the drums.. any help on this? Thank guys. Rick :nopity :nopity

Hello & welcome to this forum i would take it to the dealer since its an 04 with 300 miles on it & let them tackle this project .You say the sound gets louder as you let off the clutch ?I own an a4 & dont have a clutch pressure plate & throwout bearing but if theres anything in the drivetrain thats not working properly i would be on the DEALERS door knocking on it asap .You shouldnt have any problems with your Brand New Car .Thats what warranties are for

Welcome to the forum

The stock valve train is known to be noisy, but I've never heard it described as that bad. When going into 1st from a stop and engaging it is normal for there to be a sort of "clunk" and rattle as the drive tube engages. This should just be as the power is first being transferred to the drive tube and should not persist after. Funny I guess I am so used to it I don't even notice it anymore, but all MN6 owners I'm sure will agree.

I agree that with just 300 miles the dealer would be my first choice. I might let it go another 200 just to get past the break in period (a lawyer-like serice writer will be quick to bring that up), and schedule it for an oil change. Do the oil change for two reasons: 1) it's not a bad idea as burrs and shavings from the new engine are a common occurrance, good to go ahead and get them out and, 2) In my experience, dealers are usually more amenable to looking at warranty things while they are also making a buck on the oil change.

Unless you have money to burn, and a Corvette specialist, or a peroformance shop nearby...

Good luck!
