i have a 98 A4, so far ive done a new TQ converter, 3:42 gears, blackwing, and a full magnaflow exhaust, oh and a new thermostat, im taking her to the dyno with my LS1 edit that just arrived to get it dyno tuned, my question is what should be my next move? if the ls1 edit doesnt make me satisfied the vette will most likely hit the road and a 350z will be in my garage, not nearly as fast but still fun...so i want to see opinions on what i should do next that will make me happier with the vette...i was thinking LT headers...but i want them to be legal and not extremely expensive...so what does that leave me? or nearly any other mods that would help?
ALSO....WHERE IS THE BEST PLACE TO GET A HIGH RISE HOOD? FOR A REASONABLE PRICE?
Re: Just need a few suggestions (midnightcorvette)
I think what you need to do is figure out what it is you want out of the car.
If you are looking for more HP then do it right and go with a proven Head and Cam package. Depends on what your goal is though, as well as your budget.
ok ive thought about heads and cams since i can do the changes with ls1 edit, im maybe thinking 100 shot of NOS, but i dont want to mess anything up! im pretty happy so far...just want something a little more....what head and cam package is a good one for the money? ls6 heads? dont think budget...just nothing extremely outrageous like over 3500 bux......
now what about body parts? thinking about front lip and rear deck spoiler...like ones that flow with the lines of the car..and a high rise hood....any suggestions on good places with good prices on body parts?
Re: Just need a few suggestions (midnightcorvette)
3500 will get you a Head and Cam package less tuning. Plenty of tuners on the board here so take your pick. I personally will be going with a Cartek H/C package in a few more weeks. As far as a spoiler I really can't help you there since I really have not researched it that much.
actually i just did the ls1 edit tuning, the 3:42 gears and a whole bunch of smaller stuff like intake, exhaust, thermostat, and im really not as impressed with it as some imply on this board...............350Z might be the future for me

Have you drove a 350Z yet. They are fun but they are not a Vette. What is it that is not impressing you. I guess I am not sure what you are looking for out of a car. You keep talking about the 350Z which is a fine car (I own a FX), but what is it that is drawing you to the 350Z? I would hate to see you switch cars and still be unhappy. :banghead:

I attended Bragg-Smith Level 1 last year with a guy from L.A. who drove his own 350Z 'Track Model' to Pahrump. On the last day he took a few hot laps in his 350Z. He said that he loved his car, but after driving the STOCK Z06 for a few days he admitted that they were in different leagues, for both power AND handling. If you're not happy with a modded vette, the 350Z probably won't do it for you either, sorry.
Just get a good heads/cam package. It will get you the power you want. You will have to re tune the car after you get the heads/cam on. You will be happy with the performance. At least for a little bit. I am at 422 at the tires with my car and I am wanting more. It will never end. Thats why there are guys on here with 800+ RWHP. Good luck. Kaley
I'm lost on this one  How much power is enough? :smash: The 350Z is a nice ride but will never beat aVette any any department except maybe its smaller size. If your just after HP a supercharger will give ya 100+ more. At a price. Are you after a good daily driver or an all out street racer?
Got to decide whats right for you! :smash: :seeya

ok well the vette is fun, not doubt, ive driven all kinds of new cars, the RX-8 is extremely weak and not worth the money, same with the s2000, the 350z is definetely a winner, i want a fun car, vette is fun but not nearly as stylish as the 350z, now i know the 350z is not that fast, but thats not really the point, speed is fun, but so is style, i dont remember the exact dyno sheet # but it wasnt what i was expecting, i think its around 320 or so,which is weak imo, the 350z is all around fun, and the z06 is too much
