Just got a set installed locally and did the wiring myself. All I can say is WOW! The best of both worlds. And I can definitely notice a difference in performance as well! My install pretty much followed what XTROOPER did. Just behind the flange of the muffler pipe. Loud enough that you can't carry on a normal conversation around 1500 to 2500 rpm. Flip the switch and you're back to stock silence for road touring. Love it when the cobras pull up beside me now! I was seriously contemplating a different exhaust like the stingers but now I'm glad I went this route instead. $300 for the cutouts and $80 for the install.

Re: QTP Cutouts ROCK! (MikeyD)
I agree as the elec. cutouts are one of my favorite and enjoyable mods that i have done and they are A FREAKIN RIOT!!!!! Nothing like going to mild to wild or somewhere in between by flicking a toggle switch in your ashtray, etc. !!!!!
i just took off my b&b prt as just too loud for my taste. i plan on getting qtp too, were did you run wiring to get inside cabin of the car?
check my sig for mods
I pulled the carpet up right behind the seats and used a small hole saw to poke two holes throught the trunk, one hole behind each seat. You have to be careful on the hole behind the passenger seat as there is a fuel line under the trunk  Fortunately the line is offset from the bottom of the trunk so I missed it. Anyway, I fed the wires through the top down to the cutouts underneath the car. Real easy to get to once you poke enough wire down the hole. Just make sure the wires underneath are routed so as to miss the hot exhaust pipes. The other end of the wires were then routed under the center console up to where the switch is located. I did what XTROOPER did and placed the switch inside the center console next to the aux. power receptacle and tapped in on that power source. Real handy. The only thing is that power source is on all the time even with ignition off so I'm going to rewire the other end of that power wire to the ignition side of the battery. Its probably OK with power on it all the time but I'm just **** about continuous hot wires and accessories wired to them.
I went out on the street last night and I can definitely feel a difference. My traction control came on alot more often than before. (finely decided to disable it :skep: ) And no....its not just because I got on it more often than usual because I wanted to hear it roar!
Its definitely been one of my better mods with regards to joy and performance factor per given dollar spent!
If you don't want to cut holes in your car there is a vent in the trunk area on the drivers side in the back corner.
Just pull back the side carpet in the trunk and you should see the vent, it is about 4"x3" with a flap to give it a seal. You can easily run the wires through there.
The cut outs added 10RWHP on the dyno on my car open vs closed.

 on a sweet mod
:banghead: Oh well. At least the carpet covers up the holes. Below are pics of the install. I ended up wiring the switch to the swtiched accessary wire in the passenger footwell. I have my V1 wired there too and now when I flip the switch for the cutouts, my V1 goes ape. I figure the action of the cutout motors running sets up some sort of induction through the power wire that plays havoc with the V1. Anyone know of some sort of inline filter that would take car of this? Not a biggy, it only lasts for as long as I hold the switch on to open or close the cutouts. I could try to find another switched power source but I don't have much luck finding these on the C5.
