Default Help with mods please.

I need some help on getting some mods for my 99 6spd coupe. I was thinking of doing headers, cat back exhaust, cam and air intake and a dyno tune. I would like to not change out the stock heads as i know that will cost alot more $$$. I kind of have a goal of 450rwhp. I would like to know what parts i should buy to get this hp. I was thinking flp or lgm headers(dont know if i should use cats or not) Slp loudmouth exhaust and Vararam intake. The cam is where i need lots of help. I would also like to use my A/C and not have the car stall out. Thanks Adam

450 RWHP is a lot without forced induction or some good head work in the package. There are some super aggressive cams floating around out there like the brand new T REX from one of the supporting vendors

(http://www.thunderracing.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=content&contentid=1 01)

made 450rwhp or this one which will give you around 425rwhp

but will SUCK for daily driving The long tubes (I like the FLP's) will help, the CAT back won't give you jack other than sound. A good intake/airbox combo can give some gains as well (there are some good intakes, but that is not a huge gain either. The dyno tune is a must after all the mods, but still will not contrubute a huge leap in power. If you are willing to give up some driveability, and have y0ur heads machined to accept double Valve Springs (or are willing to go with these

Then you are getting closer - but with the stock head handicap, you car will be a reliabiltiy nightmare.

REconsider the heads - that is a great way to unlock some power and allow a milder cam

I myself would do the above mods , and if I could NOT do head work would go with this cam for 400rwhp

Why do you think this would happen?

IMO, replacing heads is easier than the cam and doing both is a given, if you only do the cam then the engine is still choked down due to the limited flow from the stock heads.

I don't think your going to get anywhere near 450rwhp without a monster cam and every bolton ever created or FI.

Cheers,

Mark
