Re: Header Bolts - what is everone using? (BOTTLE FED)
A recent Hot Rod Magazine showed in their new product review section a header bolt that has the lower threads split axially in four places. The outer part of the bolt is hollow and threaded for a set screw that is supplied. It is supposed to work by tightening the set screw, which forces the lower part of the bolt outward to lock it tighter into the tapped hole in the head. Cost was $100 for an engine set: pretty high. The reviewer remarked that loosening the set screws in a couple years might be a problem. Personally, I've often wondered if headers leak and header bolts become loose due to the exhaust gasket collapsing a little. If this were the case, having a locking header bolt is no solution.

The cost for the header bolts was $53.85 for a black oxide finish or $64.00 for the polished finish, and you can also buy intake bolts for the same price but who really has a problem with intake bolts
and their website is www.go-breslin.com
