I understand your concern over spending that much money but there isnt really that huge a difference IMO.

Just get something good. Dynatech, Kooks, LG, Stainless Works, FLP, TPIS are all good.

Yeah,
If there is no difference in headers, then there is no difference in the Intake Manifolds that are out either. Just because they all look similar, doesn't mean that they all work the same.

The same differences apply to the exhaust headers and system as the differences in a LS1 intake compared to an LS6 compared to an LSx intake.

They all look the same, therefore they must all BE the same??????

I don't think so.

Thanks

I have learned buy what is the best. You buy once and are always happy even if you need to wait a bit longer. The difference here between the best, so so or junk isn't the end of the world. When you sell them or the car they are easier to sell and you will get your money back. Get some LG's and never look back.

Lou I just said that as a response to the title of this thread. I dont feel there is a big enough difference for him to be"killing himself over it."

Your headers probably are "a little" bit better. For price/performance ratio, I think most of the header systems I mentioned are pretty damn close.

Also he said he wanted to spend $1500 max and from his original post I figured he wanted cats to be included in that price.

Dumb question time. Can't Stainless be coated???? the SLP's are 409 stainless steel and ceramic coated, at least thats what the web-site says.

Is this not the best of both worlds??? I'd like to keep engine bay temps down, won't coated help this??

Anyway Lou's look great if I could have that option I would take it, I have too use SLP's because my car is new and my dealer will honor them on my warranty. This is most likely a dealer to dealer decision, or who knows but I don't want to void my warranty and my dealer sells them new with SLP's.

No offense to Lou I think his look like the best choice

T-Byrne sell the supermaxx for 1165.49. all stainless, complete system. with high flow cats. still could have the headers coated, i was more interested in keeping the under hood temp down. looks are nice but you can't see much of the headers after there on. it get hot under that hood sitting in traffic. i think you would have less trouble with codes on the back o2's if the headers were coated also........

T-Byrne sell the supermaxx for 1165.49...
They have them listed for $1,479.99 and even with their monthly special of 10% off they come to $1,331.99. Is there a special sale that I am unaware of?

409 series stainless will rust as it is not completely non ferrous which makes coating these more of a necessity. Also they will not shed the heat as effectively as 304 ss

LG makes the best headers for the C5. I haven't seen this fact disputed on these forums. The best bang for the buck on the other hand tends to be the reoccurring question.
