Default Killing myself over Header System (Dynatech SuperMaxx?)

I have went from LGM, FLP, SW, TPIS, TTS, to SLP and now this (no
particular order):

http://www.motorsporttech.com/c5_exhaust01.asp
I am looking to stay at $1500 max. This is a complete BOLT-ON kit.
It is stainless steel, high flow cats, and a midpipe. This kit looks
very complete and the quality looks good. Guys is this a go?

FLP COated won out for me -in the end it was all about total quality for me - Also the ceramic coating keeps the headers looking good FAR longer than just Stainless Steel alone - Shawn at LAPD gave me a GREAT deal!

one vendor is having a sale on the supermaxx......i think it was around 1150. maybe more. you could have the headers coated. and still be under 1500. i would like to see a 3" center section from the cats back.

I know exactly how you're feeling :banghead: . I spent months looking at differant header systems. I too had a budget and based my decision on proven performance, quality, warranty & customer service. In the end I bought LG's :D . The install is easy & straight foward. The SS LT quality is second to none. I have a million mile warranty and the performance was proven on the dyno with a gain of 21HP & 21TQ untuned  .......

Did you get the LG headers only, thus require welding.
or
Did you get the headers, cats, midpipe that combo costs 2K?

Trying for no welding and under 1,500

trust me,, there is no coating that will last like stainless, stainless will discolor,, but in time the jet hot and other coatings will wear,,,expecially if you are out of tune. I have ran coated stuff for years on my street rod and while it looks good,, in time is shows age, the stainless headers I have had never rusted, never chipped and you can repair a crack (two kinds of headers, those that are not cracked somewhere and those that will be) on stainless without burning the coating. DOnt get me wrong, the coatings are great,, and last al ong time,, but they do age. I have been told this by a rep for jet hot and other reps. IN fact I have seen coated headers bleed rust in a year....I am sure other will disagree,, but it my opinion and I will stick with it, been there, done that. I would but the LG system,, might cost mote,, but is ALL stainless, fits great, and installs easy. No rewire, no headaches and quality piece. I seen the others and went with the better I thought....wach his own

For price and the quality, I would personally chose the KOOKs every time. The stainless is superior to any coated header I've ever run.

I know your decision is made but I just thought you might like some info. Here is a copy of a post that I did a couple of weeks ago.
Thanks

----------------------------------------------------------------------

Hi Guys,

There has been a header released that looks very similar to our LG Pro Long Tube headers. I just want to point out the specific differences and what these differences mean. I hope this information helps to clear the questions. I am flattered that there is a header company that picked our design as the the one to copy, but they only went 80% of the way to a complete well tuned system.
Thanks for taking the time to read this.

1) Collector: The LG Headers have a true Race Style Merge collectors, where the imitators have a heavy Cast steel basic collector that connects to to the rest of the system using a large 4 bolt flange that will reduce ground clearance significantly.

2) Pipe diameter: The LG Pro Long Tubes have full 3" diameter pipes compared to the reduced size of 2 1/2" of the other brand.

2.1) Cats: The LG headers use full 3 " Metal Matrix cats where the other brand uses 3" in and 2 1/2 " out. the CFM flow of our cats is about 200 cfm greater than the reduced diameter cats. The reduced diameter cats flow 396cfm and our full 3" Random Metal Matrix cats flow 590cfm. Big difference.

3) X pipe: The LG headers have a full 3 " X pipe that leads into a full 3" mid/rear pipe. I would never down size our LG headers to a 2 1/2" X pipe or rear pipes, so I cannot see how it could help.

4) Ground Clearance: The LG Headers have very good ground clearance due to the clamp style that we use. The other brand has at least 3/4" less with their clamps.

5) Bell housing mounting tabs: The LG mounting tabs are very strong and are welded to more than one tube for extra strength and long lasting duty. The tabs on the other brand are only but welded to one spot, just like the old FLP headers, which would break off very easily. This is because the mfg of these headers, Dynatech, also made the headers for FLP

6) Weight: Last but not least, the LG Pro Long Tubes are 28 lbs lighter than the LG Look alike headers. That means that, on a typical cam and head you will have to make 5 hp more just to offset the extra weight of the headers. I doubt that you would like to carry a 28# chunck of lead with you in these cars, so why add that weight for no good reason.

7) Price: The LG Pro Long Tube headers are a bit more expensive, but the combined features and performance of our headers provides much "Added Value". Plus the LG PRo Long Tubes have a "Life time" Limited Warranty for the original owner.

8) Service: LG Motorsports is here for you, to answer any questions. We don't rely on internet resellers with a Computer, a 2 car garage and a pair of "Fluffy Bunny slippers" to answer your questions. We are here for you and any issues you have with our headers.

9) HORSEPOWER!!! We have the Horsepower, and the Torque. No guessing. We will be using these headers, along with 5 other teams, in the World Challenge series this season. Teams could have bought any header they wanted, but they bought LG PRO Long Tubes after dyno testing other brands.

Thanks
Lou Gigliotti LGM

For what it's worth, this is an excerpt of a thread I made earlier in the week. (I only included the part about LGM.) The second most important thing to me is customer service, very close after quality. My LG long tubes are in the mail.

"I just got back from a year long tour in Iraq with the 101st...I was definitely looking forward to adding some mods to my Y2k car. Of course all the deals were happening around the holidays, a few months prior to my redeployment.
"I talked to a couple of tuners that were offering equipment that I wanted and I received some HUGE SUPPORT!!! I just wanted to make the forum members aware of how much help I received.
...
"Finally. Lou and crew (Godspeed definately included) at LGM bent over backwards accomidating me on a full LT headers set up for my car and they price matched the lowest deal I could find on some Borla Stingers. Special thanks to Chris and Austin for the information flow on getting my exhaust. I know I bug these guys daily as I ask questions trying to set up shop time for next weekend's install. LGM has worked superbly with Borla to answer the flood of orders from the holidays promo they offered and they are quick to respond to installation questions. I can't say enough about these guys down in Texas.

"So to answer the daily questions by members on where to get mods. Start with these four vendors and talk to their people on the ground. They will amaze you with their help, knowledge, and most importantly, their caring.
..."
