Doing a Rear Differential swap at home???
I am considering doing this myself. Anyone have any pointers on doing this? I do not have a lift, so I will be using jack-stands.

Do a search on posts by me, on this topic. I did it in my driveway. I didn't include a write-up, but I think I mentioned what resources I used.
It was pretty easy. Took me 2 days overall. It was the first real work I've ever done on my vette ( I had owned it for about 2 months at that point ) so it was slow going, because I was unfamiliar with how everything went together. I could do it easily in a day now.

I'm in the middle of doing mine right now on jack stands. This is a pain to do on jack stands but can be done. All the links here have been alot of help. Good luck and let us know what happens.

MikeV; I read your post but couldn't respond because it was locked for some reason.
It's great thet you went into such detail. It really helps others.
from your other post:
I wondered why every article I read, they dropped the torque tube? I also read that it was a pain lining everything back up, so I decided to support the TT in place and just remove the trans/diff assembly.
The reason why is because the GM service manual dictates it be done that way.
Heck, I and others have been advocating NOT dropping the torque tube for over 2 years on this forum. and it has been mentioned on my web page for over a year.
Just curious where you learned of the "tilt-down" method... or did you come up with that on your own?
