Radiator hoses collapsed when engine is cold....?
I am not too familiar with the closed system used in the LS1 but is it normal for the hoses to be collapsed flat when the motor is off and cold? When I open the cap on the fender the vacuum is released and they pop right out.... Normal or a problem here?

I have a 98 coupe that had the same problem. I replaced the radiator cap and all is well. :)

Dude, it's very normal but you have to stop opening the radiator cap.
I have been told (and read it somewhere here) that exposimg Dexcool to oxygen is what makes it gel up. I've also read, and abided by, the advice to change the Dexcool every year. Some folks swap out the Dexcool for plain old glycol anitfreeze. I dont know enough about a swap to advise.

Thanks, I just changed it when I built the motor a couple months ago. I'll do the radiator cap tomorrow and see what results happen! Appreciate the info guys

I dont know what everyone else said in this thread, but far from the popular belief... I think you need a new radiator cap.. But then what do we know...
