Those of us with '98's are locked into the Hypertech. I bought mine for the shift points and thermostat, and am quite pleased with the results. Hypertech will tell you their tuning numbers are based on a pure stock configuration. They would not even estimate gains with a different airbox and exhaust. FWIW, I installed the tuning program this weekend anyway, feeling adventurous. SOTP felt slower, and had a hellish time with the programmer locking up and essentially freezing the dash gauges at the very end. Had to pull the battery neg terminal for 5 minutes to reset, cleared the codes manually, and finally was able to get back where I was. Wanted a Predator, but I still love my Torch Red 98 that looks brand new at 56K and moves fast too.

Follow up--I see you have a Granatelli MAF. That should take Hypertech off your list for good. I just pulled mine and replaced with stock (it didn't seem to do anything SOTP)--you almost are certain to throw check engine codes if you apply their tuning program with your config.

:iagree:

I'd take the granatelli off & sell it. Use the money on something else. I love the predator- if you have the 99-up I'd go for that. Scott
