Passenger Airbag Shutoff Switch
Did a search but nothing turned up for the passenger side shutoff switch for my '98 coupe. Any info on where I can purchase this? Is it easy to install? As always, thanks in advance for the help. :cheers:

I think the dealer takes care of this for anyone who asks, but I think people on here were pulling the #2 fuse in box at the battery. Need to double-check....

installed.. I purchased it from Flitchers Chevy. If you are interested I'll
sell it for $50.00. It has the intructions included. I paid $120.00.

You can order the whole kit from Fichtner for around $110, including all the wiring and the special seat belt that goes with it. You can install or you can hire it done - not too terribly hard.

Each kit is custom fabricated to your car (u need your ignition key to turn the airbag on or off)....that being said, it is extremely difficult to find anyone to install this kit. NOBODY wants the liability in case there is a crash. I found an ex-GM mechanic to install mine. He took his sweet azz time and was done 2 hours later. Good luck :cheers:

I bought the AB Cuttoff Switch kit from Fichtner Chevy--$110. Very EZ to install yourself. Click onto this link: http://www.97vette.com/ Author gives excellent install instructions w/ pictures. Good luck.

Thanks to all for the info. I called 3 dealerships today and not one was willing to do the install due to liability issues. BIGGIE, thanks for the link to the website, that's a great site for help. CARES, if I decide to undertake this project myself, I'll be in touch within the next couple of days. :cheers:
