I just saw that GM is offering the new C6 with a Power Top option.. the option was designed by a 3rd party company..
I'd lay a bet that same option can be retrofitted to a C5!
I cannot believe GM made any significant changes to the (Top, Mechanism and tonneu Cover) They look indentical. Also means the windshield and side windows are probably the same... lol
I believe the top has been significantly changed but I agree that an enterprising young mind such as your's should be able to figure out a way to retrofit the power mechanism to a C5. :yesnod:

We gotta meet one day! I go to Atlanta occasionally for business. How far is Canton?
I love meeting up with you when you're in town, chuckster. Canton is just north of Atlanta but I'd meet you closer to town to save you the headache of trying to fight your way up here.
The Auto Show is next Wednesday to Sunday at the World Congress Center. I'll be hitting that at least one of those days to see the C6. Too bad you won't be in town then, huh? :smash:
Dude, I read in Road and Track that is adds like 17lbs....that's mice nuts...... If going to the track that night...
Skip Dinner and take a big dump before you leave... :lolg:

Understand – that’s not much.
I, personally, just think manual is OK, since I can probably take it down/put it back up faster manually than the autotamatic.
The only cool thing about this is if you can do it while on the move – now that’s nice!
I just think it would be really cool to not have to jump out when it starts to rain... Just push a button..
Just speed up! :D
I once drove it total downpour (Had to keep wipers on HIGH  ) with top down.
As long as I stayed over 80MPH with windows up – no water got inside the cabin. :D
I passed a few cars on the highway – they must’ve though I just escaped from a mental institution :lolg:

Chuckster...
What everyone, including you, seems to be missing is what the power top does to the trunk space.
If you have a lot of junk in the trunk, as I suspect you might, :lolg: given your "dump" reference to EuG above, you may want to take a look at the Cadillac XLR trunk space (or lack of it) -- no "two golf bags" anymore. Be sure to also note that some of the lower storage compartments are lost as well -- to hyraulics, etc. I'm sure you are aware that the XLR is the basis for the Corvette power top option, yes?
There was an article in the Orlando paper about the C6 convertible. In the article it stated that the power top took no more room than the manual. Also, it stated that there is a bulkhead beteen the seats and the trunk.

I didn't get the information from a newspaper article.
