Is anyone out there using the Darton block in a 427 cu in configuration? How is it working out? What tuners package are you using? What kind of HP and TRQ are you getting? What heads, intake, TB, headers, etc are you using?
Any information will be apprectiated?

:iagree: If your going to spend that much money building a 427, get a C5R block.... $3k just isn't that much more and the C5R was designed internally to be a 427.......JMO.
If you are just buying a shortblock and spending 6k then I disagree with the C5R block idea being 'only 3k more'. If you are getting a 15k longblock and having someone install it then do it.
I would like to know how many darton block owners had a good experience now that the process has had some time to be perfected.
Apparently there aren't any problems with Andy's 408 re-sleeve and that is a huge cost savings over either of the above options, still makes near the same power, and more power than is usable on the street with a S/C.

I think Agostino Racing resleeved blocks have more than proven their reliability over the past couple years. They have withstood over 1000rwhp in a mid 8 second fbody, as well as low 9's in a C5.
To the best of my knowledge there has not been a leaking, or dropped sleeve problem with an ARE block in over two years. I know mine has been in my car now for over two years and 20K miles and it has been holding up great.
These blocks are available for ~$2200, which is under 1/3 the price of a C5R block.
Currently looking to build a new engine. I currently have a ATI D1, how are the resleeved blocks for FI applications. Not sure if I should stay with stock cubes, 385 or resleeve to bigger cubes.
I have a Cartek 427 with the Darton wet sleve block. I love it , would not trade it for any thing. I like it so good I think I'll buy another one for my SS. Thanks John.

do they come with a warranty if I purchase the block only?
do they come with a warranty if I purchase the block only?
ttt
:lurk:
Our resleeved blocks do come with a warranty even if they purchased as a block only sale. If we assemble install and tune the warranty is 2 year/24,000, if the block is sold outright only there is a limmited 1 year 12,000 from dropped sleeves or water leakage. This warranty is void if there are any signes overheating or extreme detonation. Blown headgaskets and water entering the cylinder causing a hydraulic situation would also void warranty. There have been a few issues with these engines way back and have warrantied all to the customers satisfaction.
With the process we use it is virtually impossible to drop a sleeve or have a water leak.
We will be having a special in the next week or so as soon as the next batch of sleeves arrive at the shop, we also have blocks in stock and can sell them outright with no core needed :D
