I want to put in a supercharger in my 01 ZO6. I was told by a friend whom is not very reliable in the feild of knowledge that I have to build the motor aroung the supercharger. He says I will need new heads and cam. Is this true? and what type do I need? ALL suggestions welcome!! Thanks alot
I would say depends what you want to do and how much money you have to spend. If you have the money do it all have insane power and laugh as you go through a set of tires a month. You should call Andy at A&A get his set up and be happy the ls6 heads flow great anyways and your car should make great power with just the supercharger and other bolt ons.
Go on down to Cooper Corvettes in Dumfries and talk to Tom McGrath, he's put a couple in. Did a real nice job on a Magnuson on an '02 Z06 that I saw.
Basically as long as you are running reasonable boost, your stock setup should be good. Shouldn't be any "have to" changes", maybe a few "nice to" upgrades while you are in there. If you want a turn key shop with tuning and lots of experience, talk to East Coast Supercharging (supporting vendor).
Good luck! And I'll keep my eye out for you on the PW Parkway...
