So, if one had the factory CD Changer, would you be able to buy that mentioned (PIE?) adapter, and plug in This Kenwood Mp3 Player, and be able to activate it using the stock "aux" button on the factory head unit, and then control it using the faceplate that Kenwood supplies

:yesnod:
Thx!
Now the question comes in how/where to nicely mount the controller/head unit that comes with it. The cigarette lighter location looks ideal, but I worry about losing the two screw holes for mounting the HVAC cover piece. Don't want a buncha rattles...
There is another option that does not get as much attention, but some of us have done this. If you take the radio HU out, the harness is a 20 pin. There is a Peripheral adapter called the gmh20t that converts the 20 pin to a normal GM 9 pin. To the 9 pin you can attach a gmasx adapter which attaches to an aftermarket (alpine, sanyo, or audiovox) cd changer AND has the 2 rca aux adapters for another input. The gmasx and my alpine 6 cd changer then uses the oem HU controls for the cd changer. I now have two rca plugs to play something else with.

WOW; the longer is goes... the more options we get
This summer Alpine is coming out with a head unit that will control an iPod and provide for an input. I am going to buy that unit and start on my aftermarket stereo quest when it arrives
Note, this will be full control using Apple's proprietary interface :D. You'll be able to hide the iPod in the glovebox and control it from the dash.
Yep, you just probably won't be able to hide Alpine's aftermarket stereo look. Not that it is a bad thing, just that I wanted something that kept the car as stock looking as I can for now. That's why the aux input cables and solutions have been a big hit with these satellite and mp3 and md users.
