Hello all. I have 18x10.5 rims on the back of my car and I want to get new tires. I was thinking about the Nitto 555r drag radial, the Nitto 555R II (both of these are 305/35/18), or maybe something else that you guys would recommend. The main thing is I want the car to still handle fairly well in the turns. I had my heart set on the 555R drag radial, but will it affect handling that much? Wear is not a concern, neither is price. Thanks for any help! BTW the car will have over 400RWHP soon.
I'm thinking the same thing, I have Goodyear SC 295 tires on a 10.5 rim, and am thinking Nitto 555r 305 tires. Unfortunately prices for those went up $50 a tire in the last two weeks, they listed at $249, now they're $299.
Either 315/30/18 Pirelli PZero Rosso's (what I run) or 295/35/18 BFG g-force T/A KD's (what everyone else swears by.)
Michilen and Pirelli both make competition tires in the 315/30/18 size, but they will wear really fast, and need to be heat cycled to be fully effective.
Either Nitto will be fine, it has a stiffer side wall than the BFG DR's which I run on the rear of my 97' If Nitto made a 345/30/18 I would put it on the rear.
The BFG does ok in turns and it talks to ya but Nittos will be better and last longer.............00 tread wear on the BFGs means soft, not as turn friendly
Nitto gets my vote
