Default PFC-Z Brake pad replacement question??

I've never replaced the vettes pads before, but when I opened the box there were four thin plates included that had paper attached to one side of the plates. No instructions. I assume that the plates go on the pad on the piston side, between the pad and the piston, and the paper is removed befor installation. But then I thought that maybe the paper is there to reduce "rattle" noise caused by the pad hitting the plate.

What are these plates for and why do they have paper on one side????

It has been a while since I put those on but I think you peel the paper to reveal a glue. Stick them just like you said in your post. Enjoy.......

That's what you do. Just peel and stick matching the contour. Supposedly they help cut brake squeal, although a lot of pads don't seem to use these any more.
