I am installing new rotors, pads and shocks after the car comes back from DTE with the maggie,,Is there a specific procedure to use to bleed the brakes on a c5,, I will be using the tired and true method of pump and bleed routine. I have a power bleeder if I need it. I will start with the wheel furthest away fomr the master cylinder. Is there any thing I need to do with the anit-lock unit. I really dont want to mess it up, as this is the first car I owned with it. I have heard you need to bleed them also. If I can get buy with out , cool. If not,, what do I need to do. I figure if I use the pump up, bleed , and do it again method, at least I will get most of the old out and not cause a problem with the system. please advise the best, simplest way.. thanks...
You can not bleed/flush the ABS unit without a Tech2. You do not need to do anything to the ABS unit just like you do not need to flush the rest of the brake system. The funky old brake fluid will over time cause corrosion of the brake parts but they can be replaced.
