Default Dead Driver's Power Seat! - I need help

OK my power seat will not move forward using the switch. It will move back just not forward and the lumbar supports are dead as well. However, if I hit the memory button the seat will move forward to its proper position. So the motor is good as is the position sensor. I have already replaced the switch with a new one and I still have the problem. This is a major PIA if for some reason I have to valet the car or if my much shorter wife needs to drive the car (rare but sometimes). What do I replace next? :banghead:

I am at work and do not have access to my shop manuals. When I get home I will look at the problem and see if I can figure it out!

Thanks, I have the manuals as well but can't figure it out. I am not good when it comes to electrical componentry beyond a stereo or directly engine related. These darn seats are frickin computer controlled and I need an EE degree.

If you have replaced the switch and still have the probelm, then I would suspect the wiring connector to the switch. You might try checking the continuity of the wiring at the connector with a VOM for a pinched wire or such.. If the memory works, then the control module appears ok as well as the motors.

Found broken wires at the connector under the drivers seat that plug into seat control module on my Vette. ;)

I know this sounds simple but the same thing happened to me and I did everything but the obvious after taking it to the dealer which I hate. It was the stinking fuse, labeled SCM in the passenger kick panel. Give it a try.
