I know we have covered tire questions from several different directions, but I
help from those of you that have actully used these tires. It is, after all, it a fairly expensive purchase.
I (like many others) want a rear tire that has the BEST straight line traction,(resist spinning) while still being safe on the curves. I have narrowed my search down to 3 choices;
305-35-18 NittosRI/RII
295-35-18 B.F.G TA KD
295-35-18 Kumho
I have spoken with 2 tire retailers that, when given these choices, pick the BFG. They both stated that it would have every bit as much traction as the Nittos, but would be able to corner better. If they are close in performance, the Kumhos would be a good choice simply because they are SO MUCH cheaper.
I have access to BFG DRs to use on the strip, so I am ony looking for a good 0-60 street tire.
Thanks for any help.
I am curious as to how BFG can make a "street tire" that has as much traction as a DR (Nittos) Is it the compound, or the contact patch?
Also; where's the cheapest place to pick some up?
Thanks :D
I'm going to guess since it doesn't have a wet rating they are using lots of soft rubber with very little in tread groove width to evacuate water. The closer you get to a slick design the better as long as you don't have to worry about any water.
