Just installed Bassani high flow cats, now getting check engine lite. and it
appears mpg has dropped. Do I need tuning for air fuel ratio, if not what
is causing the check engine lite.. Thanks, for your help
Shouldn't need tuning... the O2's should provide feedback to the PCM ref. the O2 content of the exhaust gas and the PCM should then pull or add fuel accordingly in order to maintain stoichiometric AFR. Your MPG has dropped because, for some reason, your part-throttle fuelling is screwed... I would most certainly suspect a loose electrical connection to the O2 sensors, or a bad sensor. Double-check the fitting of the O2's on the new cats. If you can't see anything, check to see if you've thrown any codes.

Your are probably getting P0133 and/or P0153. I am the king of them!!!
I started getting codes after i installed random high flow cats.
P0230 and P0240 i believe, some times they'll pop up five minutes apart.
Nothing to worry about though, you can get them programmed out of your pcm so they don't come up anymore :chevy
