I have both and have tried them for a couple hundred miles each and have not noticed a huge difference between the two. Has anyone really seen that much difference between these two units? I am currently using the Z lid and OEM filter. I also have the Z screens for a little more air if that does much good. I like the OEM look of the Z lid, but I like the blackwing for different reasons, though I am a bit nervous about oil residue on the MAF. Just curious as to your thoughts. I know this has been beat to hell and back.
Re: Blackwing and ZO6 lid seem about the same (Frankie2blue)
Is there a sound difference? This would indicate which one is drawing in more air. Cold air systems will almost always boost HP more than warm-air systems like the Blackwing, but it sounds like you have supplied cold air to both systems. It may be time for a few dyno runs!
Re: Blackwing and ZO6 lid seem about the same (Frankie2blue)
I have had the Blackwing for a little over 120 miles now and I am very impressed. I used the ZO6 airliid and K&N as my mainstay and to me there is no comparison. Of course I have no dyno numbers or ETs to confirm this as of yet. But the car just seems to breath a lot better with the Blackwing, sounds better, pulls better, throttle response is better, looks better......as I have said before, my only regret is waiting so long, but the Blackwing was overpriced for a long time.
SOTP wise, and enjoyment wise the Blackwing is all they say it is
