Clutch Spring broken!
I went to the Drag Strip in Ennis tonight and during my first run I felt something hit my foot. It startled me but the car felt fine and I had good clutch pressure and brake and gas were good.
Got out of the car after the run and there was a black spring sitting near my feet in two pieces. Seems that the hanger broke and it fell off during the run.
So I am positive it is the spring that goes behind the clutch because I checked on another guy's vette to make sure.
So my question is... What the heck does this little thing do and what risks am I running until I have it fixed? Do I even need to have it fixed? (I'm going to fix it but might be a while)
Just inform me on what is going on here

It's the clutch return spring; mine broke on my 01 coupe. Shouldn't cause you too much trouble until you get it fixed.
After I shifted I used the back side of my foot and lifted up on the clutch to make sure it returned fully. :seeya

Some actually remove theat spring completely without any issues.
