I've got the 295's on my stock 9.5inch rim with 482rwhp and they hook like a sumbitch...... No spin from a dead stop and a slight spin from the 2nd to 1st downshift.......but I also have the 2.73 which makes a big diff. I think you'd be ok with a 315 or bigger in second gear.....but first?? Doubtful. Buy the tires- you won't be disappointed. :yesnod:
I would say it boils down to if you want to tub or not.
The 345's are undoubtedly the best, and are the same height as the 295's, so the sidewall is also the same.
If you choose not to tub, then I would shoose the 295's over the shorter 315's, because yes, flex in the sidewall does equal better launch/straight line traction, which sounds like your main goal.
If you were more concerned about cornering traction, then the 315's would be a better choice, but if you use these, you had best run a very short front tire too, ie: 285/30/18's.
