Default Piston removal...

Is it possible to swap a piston without pulling the motor? I thought I read somewhere that I can remove the oil pan from below and the head from above to remove a bad piston. Thanks...

Hi,
Taking the heads off is no problem in the car. To get the pan off you need to drop the X-member some and jack the engine up some which is a little messy.
Good luck,
Steve

I had my Y2k re-ringed at the dealer last week. They removed the X framing, dropped the oil pan, removed the heads, and pushed the piston up from the bottom. they re-ringed them, and pushed them back down from the top. Its a pain, but not hard.
