i installed my lg's in my 03 z06 in february.install went without a glitch[2.5hrs. start to finish].no check engine lights, etc.i've heard of a few adapters to convert the rear 02's to work in the front somehow were wired wrong.moving the wires in the plug corrected the problem.from what i understand late o2 cars up went to hotter wattage rear 02's from the factory
in preperation for the "new"fuel system",ffs[my car has ffs]and i believe the 04 car on has even hotter wattages for the in coming of obd III. air leaks at or near the 02's will create faults[air being sucked in will cool off the o2's]and i've seen cars that had miles on them, need 02's after a header install[regardless of header manufacture]because of age and the inability to adjust to the better scavanging effect.easiest way to find a bad 02 if you fdon' have a scanner and you are only having a problem on 1 bank is to swap the sensors over,if the fault moves to the other side, the o2 puked.if it stays, you have something else wrong.
I removed the sensor on the passenger side this weekend. I banged it up pretty badly during installation. A couple of the fins were dented in and the wire harness was twisted up like a pretzel. So, I went to the local Auto Zone and picked up what they called the OEM replacement Bosch sensor, #13111 I think it was. The problem is that the wire harness was only about a foot long versus the stock harness which is 42" long. I'm not sure why 13111 is called "OEM" when it definitely won't work. Anyway, I took it back and will either order online or go to the dealer tomorrow and pay through the **** for the right one. Based on the condition of the one I took out I'm really hoping that this was the problem that was giving me the CE light. Wish me luck!! :yesnod:
Please keep us informed. I would be intersted what the dealer charges for the O2 sensor along with the wattage. I also will be doing the install on the LG's shortly.

C5Lou,
what was the wattage of the O2 you removed?
Well, I think I've gotten it fixed now (knocking on wood - can you hear me?). Here's what I did to hopefully correct the 1053 code:
1. Checked all through from the head back to make sure I had no exhaust leaks - none found.
2. Installed new plugs - found no real problems with the stock ones, but just in case....
3. Checked all the wiring to make sure I had everything connected to the right pieces and that all the plugs were securely seated into their mate. I also rechecked and rechecked to make sure no wires were touching anything hot or had gotten burned - all was fine
4. Pulled the O2 sensor on that side - found that I had beat it up pretty badly when I did the original header install. A couple fins on the sensor were dented in and the wire harness was twisted up from screwing in the sensor without unhooking the plug first (Chit, would I do that differently if I were installing the headers now? Yup!)
5. Bought GM sensor part # 2531-7697 - lists for $162, got it for $110 because I have a good relationship with the Service Mgr at the local dealer!
6. Reinstalled the new sensor taking care to be a bit kinder to it and the harness this time around!
7. Put in a fresh tank of gas and took the car out and drove about 30 miles and no Check Engine light!
I really hope this has fixed it. In my case I think the idiot that did the install originally (me) did a very poor job of taking care of the sensors and they took more abuse than they needed to. I may pick up another sensor and replace the driver's side sometime as well, but for now I'm going to drive it, enjoy the sound and power and keep my fingers crossed that the CE light doesn't come on again!
Thanks to everyone for their suggestions and to LG for his advice on the phone - great people there who take customer service to heart. Lou offered to bring the LS1 Edit package to mid-Ohio in June and take care of the light if it got to that. He also offered to send me another adaptor just in case mine was bad. Good man - good company!
