If you are planning other mods along the way just go with the LS1 edit and that way you'll have it for the next little improvement you make. I have heard good and bad about the trans go kit.
i've done both and the Transgo was muuch better than computer programming for firming and speeding up the shifts. It really depends on whether you can find a good tranny guy to do the mod for you. If not, you may be better off with programmign instead.
Also, adding a tranny cooler will prolong the life of the tranny since heat is one of the main reasons for a tranny going south
at first i had edit, lg long, vararam. then i did h/c and 250 miles later tranny was smoked! 2200 on the odometer!!!if you are going to have future mods as far h/c or supercharger than go with transgo. at that point youll need edit anyway!!! i wouldnt pay for edit only on the tranny.
if you really wanna make your car feel better through a converter in it !!!
if you dont want something that is to crazy i had tci300 and it was invisable until you floored it, it was real nice. i now have 3800 and i must run dr.
The weakest link in a C5 Corvette is the A4 Trans. Trust me, I know. If you do no more mods than those to increase RWHP to about 350 you will "probably" be OK. Anything more than that such as a head/cam package or supercharger or nitrous and you will seriously risk the Trans. I know it is expensive ($2000) but I would go with an FLP Stage 4 now. You spent a bunch on your car and you WILL tear up the trans. Fixing it will cost yuou about 1/2 of the cost of the FLP. I'd do it now for insurance. I replaced 2 transmissions before I wised up!!! JMO and welcome . :yesnod: :yesnod:
