Jacking a C5?
Forgive a newbie for asking a question I'm sure has been asked before, but.... Want to paint the calipers on my new C5, but don't have access to a lift. If I'm supposed to use the jacking pads to jack the car up, then where do I place the jackstands to remove the jack and go to the other side? Any help on this would be great!!
I have the easiest way.....
Jack the front of the car up until the jack is at it's highest point. Put jackstands with pucks under the front chassis points for lifting. Lower the front to the jackstands and the rear will raise slightly. Move to the rear of the car and jack to highest point. Install Jackstands with pucks. Now the car will be 12-20" depending on jackstand height off of the ground. Reverse to remove.
Phillip
Jack front from the center of the cross member and rear from the center of the cross member also. Jack stands should go at the front and rear of both doors in the lift positions.

Re: Jacking a C5? (GRAYT VERT)
OK Everybody,
Thanks for the input. It's just what I was looking for. And, I will be getting some Rhino Ramps this weekend, they look like the are just the ticket for getting under the car when necessary!
