I need to find a qualified run flat installer in the Northern Virginia, DC, Maryland area. Can any of the forum members recommend someone that does good work. I have a new set of BBS wheels and I really don't want to see them damaged. Thanks in advance.
Either that or find a shop that sells custom wheels..they should be able to mount without damaging the rims...your biggest problem is going to be removing the tires from existing wheels....make sure they agree to replace your tires if the tear a bead...I had a qualified installer tear a brand new Michelin Zero Pressure tire and another shop tear the bead on a Firestone runflat...this happens more on dismount than mounting new tires. It would be no big deal except most shops don't have RF tires in stock :seeya
Oh yeah the reason I went to the second place is the first guy refused to do anymore after tearing my new Michelin..he bought me a tire :yesnod: the damage to the Firestone was really insignificant...very minor
Discount Tire work well for me. Worked their tails off to find/fix a slow leak. Then after all that, they only charged me $12. AND, when they remounted the wheel to the car, they used a torque wrench and not the air ratchet. I was prepared to ask them to do that and didn't have to.
You aren't going to believe this but I purchased my Pilot Sport Run Flats and had them installed at the Costco in Fredericksburg. I was very satisfied.
