HELP..Cant shift transmission into gears
I just got done upgrading my my 97 A4 with 3.42's, SY3500 and transgo. I went to start my car for the first time and it didnt start. When I tried to shift into gear, the shifter moved only from P-> R->N and stopped at D. When I looked under the car and had someone move the shifter, the linkage attached to the transmission wasnt moving. By hand I was able to turn the linkage on the tranny and then start the car. Anyone have a clue as to why my shifter is is not hooking up and working properly.

If you just had all that work done, someone had to pull the the entire rear end (and probably the torque tube too, if they did it by the book). Shifter cable is not connected - connect it :)
