Default PCM Removal

Can someone tell me how to remove the PCM. Somewhere along the repair route a Tech broke the carrier and now its in half and rattling in the well. I tried to take it out but there is a lot of resistance. I think I got all the srews.

Did you get the screw on the left side of the PCM?... kinda hard to get too. I usually take the right screw all the way out and loosen the left screw quite a bit but not totally remove it. The plastic strap should then have plenty of play in order to remove the PCM. Some PCM's are seated in there plastic cradles rather firmly... with a few being "glued" in place from road grime and exterior PCM case corrosion. A few more cuss words and another knuckle buster ought to get it out :yesnod:

Mine fit pretty tight in the holder and once I figured this out all I had to do was pull evenly and firmly on both sides and it slid right out.

remove the right screw on the cradle and loosen the left screw on the PCM cradle as stated. Look underneath the PCM (at the electrical connectors) and there is one screw in each that needs to be loosened until the connector can be pulled free.

I wish this thread was posted a couple days ago! My PCM was caked in pretty good, had a hard time getting to those rear screws. In the end I did crack the plastic case that holds the PCM to the frame. Hopefully a good glue job might work.
