looks like you have a 2-3 shift solenoid problem.the pcm saw a 4-3-3-4 shift.either you probably have a bad 2/3 shift solenoid.if you cleared it and it comes right back i would think bad solenoid or the shift valve is binding or the fluid passage is blocked.
didn't know about the converter.i'm assuming the car was ok before the converter.first check the fluid level, maybe it's low,but your fault is for a shift solenoid[on the valve body].check the plug on the tranny[20 wires].it had to get disconnected for the install.did they take the pan down?if so maybe they hit the harness for the solenoid[long shot, but possible].the unit might just be low on fluid.does the car shift funny?
Re: Real dumb question for you guys.... (Fastbasser)
don't feel bad!there is no dipstick.it's a PITA to check.first you have to get the car up in the air level, with the engine running and in park, remove the plug that's in the left side of the tranny pan.with a fluid temp between 80-100 degrees, the fluid should be even with the threads.note;ONLY REMOVE THE PLUG WITH THE ENGINE RUNNING.if the fluid is low, fill through the plug hole until it drips out.
This is gonna be fun..................................... .. Damn,,,,,,,,,,,We had the damn thing on a lift today.. As you can assume, lifts aren't easy to come by that we dont have to pay $75 an hour to use......
