Planning on replacing control arm bushings need help please
Since i have 70k miles on car and I am replacing motor, rear end, and a slew of other things I figure might as well replace bushings with polyurethane bushings. Any experience with this. I don't car about ride or little noises but more about handeling. I am concerned about install can some one walk me through it give me some tips or things to avoid. any help would be appreciated.

LGM makes metal bushings, with spherical bearings, for the control arms. They look good, somewhat like the set on the World Challenge Vipers. They should be available soon. In any case the polyurethane bushings are not really worth the trouble (it is two days work, on all 16, and the suspension will still move around each one).

The advantage to upgrading the bushings to polyurethane is that since polyurethane is harder than rubber they will last longer. Also they will allow less flex compared to rubber which increases the handling ability somewhat. The downside is that they make the ride somewhat harsher because there is less give. All metal, of course is even harder and virtually no flex which means a step up in handling ability and harshness.
Overall the change in handling is modest compared to other handling mods such as tires, springs, shocks, or sway bars. Its effect to handling is more like changes in alignment. The change in ride that it makes is much more noticeable.
Changing the bushings is relatively easy if you have a bench vise to aid you in pushing the old ones out and the new ones in
