Got the reduce engine power service traction control on the DIC again, along with reduced power (good thing I was at a light)
Checked all the codes again same ones, need to replace my TAC.
The manual says its connected to the PCM under the battery.
What is involved in replacing the TAC? is it a PITA? or just pull the battery and all is well...
It is under the battery, however you have to pull the right front tire, then remove the rear panel of the inner fender well. The TCM and the PCM are in there together. Be sure you seal everything up well when you're done so water can't get it there. That would kill your electronics quickly.
Yeah, I know, it's a weird place to put that stuff, but who said we were ever going to have to deal with some space case GM engineer's design.
I've got to do the same thing on my '98 next week. Where did you buy your TCM, and how much $$?? Good luck.
