2003 Coupe...Found that passenger window will not move from either drivers or passenger side switches. Drivers side window still moves, but just hear a slight click in the vicinity of the passenger door window switch when I attempt to lower passenger window. Luckily it is up at the moment.
Anybody else have this problem...just wondering if there is anything to try before risking a trip to the dealer for repair.
Could be jammed, the click you hear could be the internal breaker that is designed to open if the window does not move. Then again, could be a defective switch or motor.
Unfortunately this is a rather common problem. A few of us in the forum have had to deal with this. The passenger window regulator/motor is weak and known to fail. The dealer will replace it under warranty. I had mine replaced on my '04 after only 5000 miles.
I have seen alot!! of bad window regulators lately, some are even going out in pairs. If you remove the door panel and reconnect the switch you can hit the window motor ( three bolts around the center door area with a raised circle in the middle of the bolts, hit the raised circel)not to hard, while pressing the window switch and it should free up and start moving. This works about 90% of the time, if you ever get stuck with a window down this may be usefull.

:iagree: Mine went out on my '99 when it had 2,500 miles on it. Window probably hadn't been down a half dozen times.
Just after I made an appointment for the dealer to have a look, my wife said that the window was working today. I cancelled the dealer visit, as they would probably just tell me that they can't fix it if it isn't broken....
Just hope the next time it decides to stop working isn't when it is down
You can usually fix it yourself if its out of warranty and you're a do-it-your-selfer. Most of the time, the problem is just lack of lubricarion in the regulator cables and motor housing. When mine quit, I took my regulator apart and lubed the center cable wheel with lithium grease, sprayed the cable housings with WD-40 and sprayed the motor stator area. Its been working flawless now for 2 1/2 months. Did this on a couple other C-5s in our club with success as well. There is tension on the motor when the window is up. Thats why most of the time they quit when the window is up.
