The best thing to do is to drive one for yourself and decide. Most of the guys are willing to let you take a spin or go for a ride. Then you can see first hand how streetable these cars are.

Re: Cartek Customers (MikeJamesC5)
I've got 60,000 miles on different Cartek head cam packages. I've got 20k + on the 2x package. I've had zero reliabilty problems related to their work so far. My car has been on a 10,000 mile plus road trip along with several 1K mile road trips.
I drive the car every day rain or shine even snow. I really do not see a great deal of difference in driveability. I drove a stock Z06 the other day and was dissapointed in how sluggish it felt :yesnod:
I still get 20 mpg driving to work and have knocked down over 30 mpg on a trip. 500 miles is a long drive without stopping. The 4.10's make every gear more useable and unless you travel at 90+ there is almost no fuel mileage difference.
Should be finishing new shortblock and 3x upgrades in a few weeks. I have no doubt I will get plenty of miles out of this package too.
I'll drive it to Michigan any time. I drove it to Flint for the Audi A8L launch.
You buy gas, beer, and dinner I'll supply the ride
I'm not going to post who but someone who responded to this topic told me on the phone if I went with the Cartek H/C package I would lose driveability.
They also said I wouldn't be able to drive it on a long trip so I should go another route. Thats one of the main reasons why I posted this topic. Now on this post they are all for Cartek. Kinda like someone is 2 faced. :nono:
Streetability is too subjective. Example, a few mos. back I posted seeking advice on what cam to get for my 422 everybody that responded told me to go ahead w/ MTI S cam some even recommended bigger cams. I tried the S cam 244 244 112lsa, only kill the car once or twice but it hardly fit the definition of streetability in my book.

go with the x3 package. I am one of the guys in the 10s with it in a automatic. I have the same wheel and tire setup you have. It is fine, you will love the power.
In S.C. at the shootout I saw Brent virually hot lap 30 times and drive his car to dinner--it idles perfect and pulls like a mf I don't know why anyone would think the car would loose streetability--as far as the 1/4 mile goes Mike (stealth) has a cartek 441 that has run in the 9's and it idles perfectly and he drives it on the street all the time--the best bang for the buck is likely one of their H/C packages, I have had the blower motor and it is strong but has a lot of drawbacks--I have a stroker now that Brent's car could kick the s$#@ out of--so why get a stroker until they have heads that will let them flow---410's and the lastest cartek package will make you very happy and you can keep the change over setting up a blower or building a stroker--

I think I know who you're talking about, but I think it's sour grapes because they can't put together a heads/cam car that will run as quick as my stock motored car  They also like to tell people I have internal motor work yet won't bet me that I can pull my valve covers and intake off at the track and have it verified. Mine's not the only A4 stock internals car running the number either, so maybe they should learn to set the cars up instead of bashing tuners behind the scene :yesnod:
Yeah, I'm for the head and cam package. Man! I watched the video clips on Carteks website and I like what I seen! I like cars that are fast and loud and those suckers scream.
There are several shops putting up big dyno numbers , dyno numbers can be inflated easily , Cartek backs up the numbers at the track .
They currently have the quickest/fastest naturally aspirated times on this board for cam only(RobZ)10.94 , heads and cam(Brenteb02)10.52 , and stroker (my car) 9.98 . And yes , all the times were run in "decent" air , usually high 40's , not "frigid/artic conditions that some of the jealous Cartek haters will refer to. Cartek also swept the H/C class last year at the Breathless shootout , and won the H/C and stroker class this year at the tuner shootout in South Carolina , the LG H/C car ran a slightly quicker time but it was underweight and the run was disqualified , it was also running open headers and running on race gas , Brent's car was the same set up he drives on the street everyday . There's enough info on this board for you to make a good choice . Good Luck on your decision .
I'll be going with Cartek as soon as I get the money saved up. Sometime this summer. Unless they'll finance me. :yesnod:
I think they should. Or just do it for free so they can get more advertisement here in Michigan.
You better believe I'm going to take it to the track. Milan Dragway.
You guys should come up here and run. They started a big event called the Motor City Nationals last year. The re-paved the track and did a lot of other work to it.

I'd like to run my car out there sometime , maybe in the fall , I'm too busy with work in the summer .
